Welcome back to the PolicyViz Podcast! As I’m sure you’re aware, data visualization tools are a regular source of discussion: Which tools to use? Which one is best? Which one allows me to do this or that or the other? Over the last few years, we’ve seen an explosion in data visualization tools, and more and more custom tools are cropping up.

On this week’s episode of the show, I’m happy to be joined by David Bauer from the online newspaper NZZ in Zurich who, along with his colleagues, created an internal visualization tool called Q. David is the Head of Storytelling at NZZ and we talk about the development of the tool, work around the newsroom, and some different stories they’ve been working on.
