I’ve shown this graph [see more here] to a couple folks who can’t seem to understand it. What would make it clearer? Goal is to show:
-How much revenue is currently generated by each tax bracket?
-How many filers are in each bracket?
-And show the two in conjunction, viz. x filers in y bracket generate z income.
I thought this graph did that. Others just don’t see it.
How about a small multiples graph? I used the conditional formatting bars in Excel to create this version.

If you want to add how much tax is collected per return in each bracket, this example adds another set of bars.
