We’re writing a pilot program that we did at 7 hospitals over about 2 years. We have data on two items, by site and month:
(1) referral rate (% of patients referred to the program)
(2) participation rate (% of patients who chose to participate)
It’s a mess because there’s a lot of variability – and that might be the story – but how to show it? Needs to be grey scale for a journal. Yikes!
Here is a try with a color scale directly on your data, for the referral part. for me, its better to see when there is data, when not, and have an overall view of how each site did. Adding a summary stat allow to see at the same time the % of data available and average of referral rate. It’s done on GoogleSheet but you could do the same on Excel. I can share the file if you would like to.
You could do the same for the participation rate. Or if there is a meaningful relationship between referral and participation rate, you could have a tab and color scale for this 3rd variable calculated from referral and participation rate.
Let me know if that help in any way or why if not 😀
