I am teaching an introductory workshop to data visualization in Washington, DC on Thursday, June 8, 2016 from 9a-1230p EST. I’m excited to bring together people from different fields and sectors to help improve the way we communicate data.
In this 3.5-hour session, we’ll talk about the science of perception, different visualization types to help expand graphic literacy, and best practices to creating and communicating data. Workshop participants receive a copy of my book, Better Presentations: A Guide for Scholars, Researchers, and Wonks, a copy of the desktop version of the Graphic Continuum, and a number of other handouts and resources. The workshop is a combination of hands-on exercises and lecture.
